There is a pretty fascinating Bloomberg interview with Chamath by Emily Chang (click here). There’s lots of good nuggets in here, but the new idea he’s thrown out is how the race for technical talent dovetails with the frothiness in secondary markets. In a nutshell, his conjecture is that today’s war for technical talent is so fierce that one of the biggest draws in recruiting and retention is to have an environment where technical hires can access liquidity after just a few years of work. Logically, this makes sense and he’s the first person I’ve heard so far to tie these two phenomena together.
